Responsibilities

  • The Commissioners shall establish an annual budget in accordance to the state statutes overseen by the Division of Local Government Services in the NJ Department of Community Affairs.
  • The Commissioners shall establish accounting processes and controls that permit oversight and control of all expenditures paid for by public funds.
  • The Commissioners shall hold monthly Open Public Meetings to review and approve legitimate, budgeted expenditures, backed up by proper receipts.
  • The Commissioners shall consider, where appropriate, those steps necessary to deal with unexpected or emergency expenditures.
  • The Commissioners shall provide an open, public forum for the residents and taxpayers of the Fire District; and, do everything in their power to remedy public complaints.
